CBM Appoints Emad Botros & Almess Yousif Botros as Global Field Staff

DSC_5379_01Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Emad Botros and Almess Yousif as Global Field Staff. While Emad’s primary work will be lecturing in Old Testament Studies and Islamic Studies at the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary (ABTS) in Lebanon, they will also be involved in mentoring students in ministry and leadership skills. Almess will be exploring opportunities to work with Iraqi and Syrian refugees. They will also work with other CBM staff to develop resources and models for ministry in an Islamic context.

Emad was born in Egypt and held roles there as a high school teacher and later as a pastor. Almess was born in Iraq where she earned her BA in accounting. After meeting as students at ABTS, they married and came to Canada in 2005. In Canada, they each served in their local church and among the local Arab immigrant community, supporting newcomers to Canada as pastor and ESL teachers.

Emad and Almess are members of Stanley Park Baptist Church in Kitchener, Ontario. They have two sons, Timothy and Nathaniel. The Botros family will depart for the field following a time of support raising and vision sharing.
