The Mills will be working primarily with the Association of Baptist Churches of Rwanda (AEBR). Janice will be engaged in literacy training with women, and Jonathan will consult with the AEBR on capacity building with a particular focus on governance. Prior to their appointment with CBM, Janice was the Executive Director of Matthew House Refugee Services Ottawa. Her previous workplace experiences include teaching ESL in Germany and Canada, supply teaching and home schooling. Jonathan has been on the pastoral staff of Kanata Baptist Church for the past nine years, in the role of Pastoral Team Leader for the last five.  Prior to that, he served as a pastor in Nova Scotia (Port Lorne & Hampton), Toronto (Blythwood Road) and Mississauga (Glen Erin). He also served as a member of the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec Board of Directors from 2003 to 2009. Jonathan is currently in the midst of obtaining his D.Min from Acadia Divinity College.

The Mills have raised seven children. Their youngest, Robert will accompany them to Rwanda. The Mills will depart for the field following a period of support raising and vision sharing in Canada.
