Press Release:

CBM Announces Kathryn Scott’s Reassignment to the Dominican Republic

Mississauga, Ontario – Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM) is pleased to announce Kathryn Scott’s reassignment as Global Field Staff Dominican Republic as of November 1, 2023.

In September 2022, Kathryn joined the Latin America team and has spent the past year in Guatemala. Her initial focus has been on language learning and supporting CBM’s partners in Central America. In this role, she has hosted several SENT teams and felt called to the Dominican Republic and the ministry our partners are doing there.

“We have such respect for Kathryn, for her willingness to leave the comforts of the familiar and to follow God’s leading for her life,” says Kathleen and Bruno Soucy, Latin America Team Leaders.

CBM is pleased to continue strengthening our partnerships in the Dominican Republic. In this new capacity, Kathryn will learn from and contribute to effective ministry in the DR through leadership training, youth engagement, and meaningful SENT experiences. Kathryn says: “I am excited for this opportunity to learn, grow, and serve alongside IBAREDO. I am thankful for the time I have been able to spend with them so far and look forward to what God has in store.”

John Chan, Director of International Partnerships, says: “Our partner in the Dominican Republic, IBAREDO, has been a wonderful and dynamic partner engaging in Integral Mission in their local setting. We’re thankful to send Kathryn as our first Field Staff in the Dominican Republic, accompanying IBAREDO in their ministries.”

Pastor Benny Morato, IBAREDO’s National Coordinator, shared these affirming words as Kathryn accompanied several SENT teams, “The time Kathryn spent with us was a great blessing. She is a very dedicated person and dedicated to the work of the Lord. She allows herself to be guided and asks good questions to learn more about the context. She quickly managed to be loved and welcomed by all the people with whom she participated.”
