Prayerline

December 2, 2008

Thailand
News continues to be grim it seems, no matter where in the world we look. Darlene Neily tells us that The People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) has taken over Government House and the government’s temporary offices in Don Muang. They have also moved into both airports in Bangkok, disrupting all air traffic. There have been several reports of violent incidents from both the PAD and those who oppose them. The believers in Thailand would value our prayers at this time. Pray that the Lord will give wisdom and humility to the decision makers and will bring a swift, just and peaceful solution to hostilities.

Indonesia
As Paige Byrne-Mamahit and her daughters get used to their new surroundings in Pontianak and acquaint themselves with the ups and downs of home schooling, they ask us to pray for Johnny as he travels deeply interior on roads that are never very good but are doubly treacherous in what is now the rainy season. Pray for his safety as he travels long distances this week to visit remote areas of Ketapang. Pray also for peace for Paige and the girls as they await his return.

Global
Please continue to pray for trouble spots around the world. Remember the oppression in India – particularly Orissa, and think also of the Democratic republic of Congo where the people are feeling abandoned and things are looking frighteningly like Rwanda prior to the genocide in 1994. Ask the God of the universe to bring His influence to bear on those who have the power to bring about change.
