Angola

  • CBM has recently returned to working in Angola through a partnership with the Angola Evangelical Church (IEA). Through the IEA, CBM works in the areas of leadership development and sustainable community development.

Kenya

CBM has forged three dynamic partnerships in Kenya:

  • African Christian Church & Schools: Since 1970, CBM has partnered with the African Christian Church & Schools. The ACC&S began through the ministry of the African Inland Mission among the Kikuyu in 1903. It has worked as an independent body since 1948. This denomination has had a strong impact among the Kikuyu people and currently has 140 churches with over 150,000 members as well as several schools throughout Kenya.
  • Africa Brotherhood Church: Based out of the Machakos region, the Africa Brotherhood Church is an indigenous Kenyan denomination. The ABC began in 1945 with the vision of an indigenous African church. Today, there are over 1 million members in the ABC churches. The ABC also runs over 700 schools, from pre-primary to polytechnical levels.
  • Somali ministry: this creative ministry reaches the Somali people in Kenya, most of whom are refugees living in the Northeast Provinces and the slums in Nairobi. (Kenya is a STEP Country)

Rwanda

  • Our primary partner in Rwanda is the Association of Baptist Churches of Rwanda (AEBR). The AEBR strives to minister to the nation through evangelism and community development at a grassroots level via such things as medical clinics and sustainable agricultural projects. Rwandan Baptists stress the need for every church to be engaged in church planting. (Rwanda is a STEP Country)
