Solidarity Sunday

Every Mother’s Day*, Canadian Baptists across the country come together for a very special reason: Solidarity Sunday. This is a symbolic event intended for us to stand in unity with our brothers and sisters around the world.

This year we are asking your church to join us in standing alongside our neighbours in Rwanda. Through Solidarity Sunday, you can bring hope and healing to vulnerable families who struggle with such issues as poverty, HIV/AIDS and the legacy of the genocide.  You can also help support and train the dedicated pastors who must minister to families amidst these challenging circumstances.

This Mother’s Day, May 9, give hope to a men, women and children in Rwanda through Solidarity Sunday. On this special day, we ask that all Canadian Baptists give a minimum of one or two Toonies to help support Rwanda. One small sacrifice. One huge impact when multiplied together. Last year, churches across Canada raised over $40,000 for our brothers and sisters in Indonesia! We hope to exceed that amount this year.

This Mother’s Day, share God’s love. Say “Yes” to your neighbours in Rwanda.

*Please note: In past years, some churches have indicated that they are unable to participate on Mother’s Day due to other previously arranged programs. This does not mean that you cannot take part in Solidarity Sunday! You can make preparations to participate on any Sunday throughout the year. Simply order your supplies and use them at a later date. Solidarity comes from the willingness to stand in unity with our global neighbours. Dates are not important.
