She also accompanies the seminary choir.

Bill Dyck was born in Winkler, Manitoba. He is the youngest of six in his family. He gave his life to serving Jesus Christ when he was eighteen. He was baptized in 1980 at the Word of Life Mission Church in Niverville, Manitoba. Bill studied at Nipawin Bible Institute from 1979-82 graduating with a Pastoral/Missions Diploma and an award for homiletics. He is also a graduate of Providence College (formerly Winnipeg Bible College) B.A, 1984; Regent College, Vancouver, Master of Christian Studies, 1988; and Canadian Theological Seminary, Regina, Doctor of Ministry, 1999. During his college days he was always active in missions groups and went on a short term mission to Mexico during the summer of 1981. The Dycks pastored at Eagle River Baptist Church in Eagle River, Ontario from July 1988 to December 1993 and the Moosimin Baptist Church, Moosimin, Saskatchewan from January 1994 - March 1999. Bill was ordained in 1989 with the Baptist Convention of Ontario and Quebec. Bill has served on a Native Ministries Commission in the BCOQ, the Church Planting and Renewal Committee of the Saskatchewan area of the Baptist Union of Western Canada, as Chair of the Church Planting and Development Commission of the joint MB/SK Area, and as the area representative to the Western Canada Missions Committee of the BUWC.

Janice Dyck was born Winnipeg, Manitoba and grew up near Niverville, Manitoba. She is the eldest in her family and has four sisters and one brother. Her home church, Word of Life Mission Church, was very involved in world missions. She was nurtured in her faith by Christian parents who loved having missionaries in their home and it was not uncommon for four couples from the church to be on the mission field at any one time. Janice came to faith in Christ at age three and reconfirmed that commitment when she was ten. She was baptized in 1976 at the Word of Life Mission Church. Janice is a graduate of Prairie Bible College (diploma 1979; BRE 1992) and of the Health Sciences Center School of Nursing (Registered Nurse 1983). During her college days she was very involved in music, and musical tours were the highlight of her college experience.

Bill and Janice met in the College and Career group at Word of Life Mission Church in Niverville. They were frequently involved in ministry together at the Union Gospel Mission in Winnipeg, even before the budding of their romance. Many factors shaped Bill and Janice's thinking towards missions. Janice's family prayed for missionaries daily and missionaries were frequent visitors in the home. Bill knew that Jesus was the answer for a hurting world after his own personal experience of salvation in 1978. He was eager to go into missions immediately but God's timing included family, schooling and pastoral experience first. In March 1998, in response to information about Indonesia printed in CBM's InfoMission material, the Dycks made their initial inquiry to CBM and started their missionary journey.

Bill speaks both Low and High German and now Indonesian. Bill's interests include learning languages, reading science fiction books, the outdoors, and hockey, golf, fishing, hiking and badminton. Janice has studied High German and has a working knowledge of Low German. Janice's interests are music (playing the piano and singing), reading, crafts (cross-stitch, knitting, etc.), and doing math puzzles.  Their children,  Jonathan and Marigan, are currently studying in Canada.
