Sharing Way Water - CBM

Water is the common property of all people. It is essential for human, animal and plant life. Water is a key component in maintaining stable climate patterns. It is indispensable for food production and industry. Water has deep spiritual and symbolic significant in the Christian faith and in many societies around the world.

Today over one billion people do not have access to safe, clean water. Over 2 billion people are not using improved sanitation facilities at even a rudimentary level. Sanitation is critical for maintaining the quality of water and preventing deadly diseases.

The rural poor and slum dwellers in the development world often lack improved water sources and sanitation. As a result children and adults struggle with chronic disease. Women and children walk long distances daily to carry small quantities of water for domestic use. The poor bear the cost in time taken from more productive activities like income generation and schooling.

The Sharing Way has water and sanitation programs in a number of countries. In some countries we are grateful for working partnerships with other organizations. In Kenya we are able to work on deep well programs because of a partnership with The Water Project and Living Water International.
