The children of South Sudan continue to be some of the most vulnerable in the world, according to the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Into the second year since violence exploded in South Sudan, the international community must respond to the almost 1.5 million South Sudanese children who desperately need to return home in order to receive an education, and for child soldiers to be freed and reintegrated into society. Please pray for the over 1.65 million people who have become internally displaced over the past two years from South Sudan, and for more global attention and support to protect the South Sudanese, for without it, “an entire generation of children from the world’s newest nation could be lost” []
