Please continue to pray for those impacted by the atrocities of Boko Haram in Nigeria, often women, children, and Christians being targeted. Since 2009, it has been reported that at least 17,500 have lost their lives, though many estimate the actual number to be 3-5 times higher than that. Boko Haram claimed responsibility for the two bombings that took place on June 25, 2014 in Lagos, which is Nigeria’s largest city and commercial center, as well as for the over 270 school girls who were kidnapped from the Chibok Government Secondary School on April 14, 2015, triggering the #BringBackOurGirls social media campaign. Please pray against the violence and destruction occurring in Nigeria, and consider how we can pray and act in a world of inequities, oppression and injustice, to bring compassion, justice and love to the broken and wounded places in the world.
