Renewed violence in South Sudan’s capital city, Juba, has broken out last Friday, and more than 200 people are reported to have died as a result, with at least 36,000 people displaced by the fighting that are in need of urgent assistance, according to the United Nations. Our partner in South Sudan, the Faith Evangelical Baptist Church which has 74 churches in both South Sudan and Kenya, asks for prayer and peace in the region. A shaky ceasefire has been called today and appears to be holding, but tensions remain high. Pray for needs to be met, and for the political tensions to find resolution quickly. Please remember the most vulnerable in this situation.
