Kamp Tumaini – For Children Impacted by AIDS in Kenya

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Guardians of Hope (GOH) in Kenya and the work that has been done to improve the lives of those impacted by HIV and AIDS, CBM together with its church partners launched a new initiative this past summer – Kamp Tumaini – for orphans and vulnerable children. It is a welcome break for children who have a tough, and often lonely life. At camp they have the chance to play, make new friends and experience God’s love and care in a very real and wonderful way. They also get to meet with other children who a share a similar journey and realize that they are not alone in their struggles.

The first camps were an incredible success, with teams coming from the U.S. and Canada to volunteer for two weeks. For the next two years, Canadians will have the chance to volunteer as camp staff in partnership with Kenyan volunteers. You can give a gift this Christmas to support this project or even go yourself, as a volunteer.
