Strategic planning. Project management. The preparation of budgets. Financial reports of income and expense. Monitoring and evaluating of outcomes. Performance reviews. Information technology. The expectations and demands of leadership have increased in the past decades.
Christian leaders in the developing world sometimes feel overwhelmed by organizational challenges and the expectations of western partners for transparent management of resources and personnel.
CBM is committed to actions that strengthen partners and partnerships. Some of this work is done through leadership training in workshops and seminary programs. CBM also conducts regular partner peer assessments to identify areas of organizational vulnerability and create a plan to address them. Canadian volunteers may be used to provide professional advice and ongoing mentoring. Strengthening partners is an important part of the mission of the church in our time.
