This week, the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls is holding community hearings in Nova Scotia. The hearings, which will come to a close on Wednesday, are being held at Membertou First Nation in Cape Breton. The national inquiry will visit communities across Canada this fall, hearing testimonies and stories from dozens of witnesses. Please pray for God’s peace, healing and justice to reign during this time. Also, pray that the proceedings would go smoothly, as the inquiry has already faced significant delays and criticism. We pray that the interim report, which is scheduled for release on Nov. 1, will shed light on the issues facing Indigenous women. May God bring healing to the families who are still grieving the loss of their loved ones, and may the Lord grant them courage and strength as they share their stories.
