Mississauga, Ontario – Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM) announces the conclusion of Bruno and Kathleen Soucy as Team Leaders for Latin America and their transition to new ministry roles effective December 31, 2024.

Bruno and Kathleen have served with CBM since 2006, first in Rwanda, then as Latin America Team Leaders since 2014. The Soucys will continue serving in part time roles as Bruno will be working with Vennture, CBM’s faith and work initiative, while Kathleen will offer support to the SENT program.

“CBM staff and partners are grateful to have served alongside Bruno and Kathleen. They have accompanied our Rwandan partner, AEBR, from the early days and have been instrumental in expanding CBM’s partnerships in Latin America beyond Bolivia to Central American and Caribbean countries such as Guatemala, El Salvador, and the Dominican Republic,” says John Chan, Director of International Partnerships.

As Latin America Team Leaders, Bruno and Kathleen initially supported CBM programs, staff, and partner relationships in Bolivia and the Caribbean. They faithfully worked with local churches and denominational partners, as well as our Canadian churches on developing meaningful relationships and the application of integral mission, both locally and globally.

Kathleen shares, “We have been incredibly blessed to have had the privilege of serving as CBM Field Staff over the past 18 years. These years have given us rich opportunities to join in God’s mission through the diverse and creative communities that constitute CBM’s partners in Canada and beyond.”

Bruno and Kathleen both have widowed Moms, three adult children, and eight grandchildren living in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. They look forward to having more time with them.

CBM is grateful for Bruno and Kathleen’s service during their time as Team Leaders and are grateful they will continue their work with us in new ways.
