Many individuals in Capiz, Philippines lack access to adequate healthcare, and the emotional and spiritual toll of illness can feel overwhelming. Through the Center for Continuing Theological Education Program (CCTEP), CBM equips pastors with the theological knowledge and pastoral skills they need to provide meaningful, compassionate support to those they serve.

The Impact of Your Gift: Dave’s Story

Pastor Dave serves as a hospital chaplain in Roxas City, Capiz, providing spiritual support to patients and families facing health challenges, and to medical staff navigating the emotional toll of caring for those in crisis. Before joining our partner KPM’s Center for Continuing Theological Education Program (CCTEP), Dave felt limited in his ability to offer holistic care. Now, equipped with new theological insights and pastoral skills, he feels confident meeting people in their moments of greatest vulnerability.  

“Ultimately, the church within the hospital walls isn’t defined by specific rituals or doctrines,” Dave says. “It’s about creating a space where hope and compassion can flourish, where the human spirit can find solace and strength during some of life’s most challenging moments.”
