Mississauga, OntarioCanadian Baptist Ministries (CBM) announces the retirement of Dennis Shierman after nearly 35 years of service. He will conclude his work as Regional Representative for Western Canada effective September 30, 2025.

Dennis began serving with CBM in 1990 when he and his wife, Judy, served as Global Field Staff in Indonesia until 1993 and then Bolivia from 1994 to 2004. After the Shiermans returned to Canada in 2004, Dennis continued his work with CBM in various roles – Manager of Discipleship Programs, Manager of Stewardship & Giving, and served two separate periods as Regional Representative for Western Canada.

Executive Director, Jennifer Lau says, “It has been inspiring to witness Dennis’s ongoing commitment to God’s global mission throughout three decades of faithful service to CBM. Spanning from Indonesia and Bolivia to Canada, there is no greater encourager and champion of the local church and its call to be the hands and feet of Christ in a broken world. All of us at CBM are grateful for the opportunity to have served alongside him as colleagues, and we celebrate with he and his family as they prepare to embark on the next stage of life.”

CBM sincerely thanks Dennis for his dedication and effective ministry which has spanned decades and continents. We wish Dennis continued blessings as he follows God’s leading into retirement.
