C P Raju

C P has served with CBM in India since 2012. As Senior Program Coordinator, C P helps the community development team work towards integral mission. His key responsibilities include operations management, budgeting, personnel deployment, and project monitoring and reporting. Before commencing his service with CBM, C P was the community project officer at a hospital first started by Canadian Baptist missionaries. He later joined another CBM hospital in Serango, where he worked for 20 years as an administrative officer and community development project manager. CP was born into a Christian family in India, and his father was a pastor. He is actively involved in church and youth activities in the states of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. He is a singer, as well as founder and honorary editor of a monthly Christian magazine. C P is married to Jane Swarna who works as an assistant professor at an Engineering College. They have two grown children, Rajedidiah and Shruti Jessica.

Kui Baptist Association (KBA) – Empowering Kui Girl Children

The Kui Baptist Association continues to support the education of vulnerable girls by providing hostel accommodation, tutoring, and nutritious meals. Fifty girls from various villages have been enrolled in nearby government schools and are making steady progress in their studies while residing in the hostel.

Skills Development for Youth

One hundred young men and women participated in vocational training programs in areas such as computer applications, tailoring, driving, and nursing. These opportunities are helping participants gain valuable skills that will enhance their future employment prospects.

Soura Baptist Christian Mandali Sammelani (SBCMS) – Business and Marketing Skills for Socio-Economic Development

SBCMS initiated livelihood programs to address youth unemployment. Twenty-four young people from eight regions received training in business and marketing skills. Following the training, eight business units were established with financial assistance, enabling participants to generate income through the wholesale marketing of forest products and improve their quality of life.

Baptist Church of Mizoram – Youth Skills Training

Forty young people (10 male and 30 female) completed training in beauty and wellness, tailoring, basic computer skills, aluminum and steel fabrication, and bakery production. In addition to technical competency, participants strengthened their confidence, teamwork, discipline, and communication skills.

Metal Fabrication Training

Five youth participated in specialized aluminum and steel fabrication training. The program included practical instruction in cutting, drilling, grinding, fabrication techniques, safety procedures, machine handling, measurement, marking, and fitting skills.

Chuchuyimlang Baptist Church – Youth Empowerment Through Sports

Twenty boys and ten girls enrolled in football coaching, where they learned key techniques including ball control, passing, balance, running, and spot kicking. Regular practice has resulted in noticeable improvement in their skills and overall performance.

Miqlat Ministries – Skills Training for Survivors of Human Trafficking

Twenty-seven young women were selected for vocational training in barista skills, baking, tailoring, coaster making, and card making. Participants are developing practical skills that can support sustainable livelihoods. The women have learned to prepare various baked products, including coconut cookies, carrot cake, and chocolate cake, as well as food items such as noodles, fried rice, and chicken rolls. Ongoing counseling and psychological support continue to promote healing and restoration. A tuberculosis medical camp was also conducted in collaboration with the Chief Medical Department, providing medical consultations and medication to those in need.

Samaritan Home – Building Hope for Life

Twenty-four vulnerable women and girls were enrolled in vocational training programs, including tailoring, makeup artistry, and traditional attire production. Participants in tailoring and makeup artistry have successfully completed their courses, while those specializing in traditional attire continue to advance their skills.

Shalom Tribal Trust – Lost but Found – Prison Ministry

A one-week spiritual enrichment program was conducted for 62 prisoners under the theme “Love Lifted Me,” led by Rev. Dr. Noklen. Participants gained spiritual encouragement through teaching, worship, and fellowship. An awareness program on “Social Concern” was also organized, bringing together 50 church delegates from five congregations. Participants explored the causes and consequences of crime and learned the importance of supporting and rehabilitating prisoners through compassion and acceptance.

Recovery Support for Alcoholics

A sensitization program focused on the church’s response to alcohol and substance abuse was conducted for 77 church and community leaders. Through presentations, drama, and testimonies, participants gained greater understanding of addiction challenges and practical approaches to supporting affected individuals and families.
