Solidarity Sunday 2026

What is Solidarity Sunday?

Solidarity Sunday is a special day set aside for Canadian Baptist churches to stand in solidarity with local churches all over the world who serve their communities as the hands and feet of Jesus. This day provides an opportunity for us to reflect on the ways in which we can be partners in God’s mission to bring peace and reconciliation, not only in our local communities but also globally.

What is this year’s theme?

For 2026, the theme is Walking Together in Unity based on Ephesians 4:25-32.

How can my church can participate?

We’ve provided several resources that we hope you will use on April 12th, or any other time that works for your church.

  1. Sermon Resources: Watch the video sermon from Jennifer Lau, CBM Executive Director, and engage your congregation or small groups with the discussion questions.
  2. Global Staff video: Hear from some of CBM’s staff – Jean-Marie and Hortense Atitso, Suraj Komaravalli, Kathryn Scott, Byron Velásquez, and Joe Bridi  – as they share how they see the Global Church walking in unity in their regions as they respond to the brokenness in our world.
  3. Prayers and Worship: Use any or all of the prayers and worship songs provided.
  4. Lessons for Children: Use our Kids Care Lesson on Presence with your Sunday School program, or adapt for a children’s story during the service.
  5. Giving and Support: If you choose to take an offering, those funds will directly support the work of crisis response initiatives through CBM’s global partners. You can donate online here.

We’d love to hear about your participation in Solidarity Sunday 2026!  Please connect with us and tell us about your experience.

Thank you for your partnership!

Kids Resources

This year, we’re inviting your whole church to take part in Solidarity Sunday. To support this, we’ve created ready-to-use resources that help children explore how God is always with us and calls us to be present with others and the global Church. Use the lesson in Sunday school or as a children’s story in your worship service, and reinforce the theme with interactive activities like a word search and colouring page.
