Greetings from Lebanon. My name is Joe Bridi, and I serve as a National Field Staff working with our partners in the MENA region. The education system in Lebanon continues to face increasing challenges. In a country suffering from uncontrollable inflation, budgets are exploding, forcing private schools to increase tuition. It is making them more and more unaffordable to most families.

In this newsletter, you can read about a couple of highlights from the ministry in the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA) through graduates from the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary (ABTS). Last April we visited Sudan, this trip aimed to spend time with our partners after the disruption in travel caused by the pandemic. It was important for us to be there to encourage them and show them our support. It was also a good time to evaluate the projects we supported in 2021 and talk about their plans for 2022 trying to figure out how we, at CBM, can offer meaningful and strategic support to the ministry of the Church in Sudan.

The economic and political crisis within my country continues to make life hard as our currency is constantly devalued, and prices for gas, food and necessities are soaring.
Based in Beirut, Lebanon, Joe Bridi works with CBM’s local partners to develop strategies for ministry and provide support to graduates of Arab Baptist Theological Seminary who are launching ministries in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region.
