Based in Northeast India, the Program Coordinator, India will work in close collaboration with the Team Leader for Asia to support the Northeast (NE) India States portfolio. Responsibilities include ensuring that good project management practices and tools are being used to stay on scope, schedule, and budget of the projects in partnering with local churches in NE India. The Program Coordinator will also support quality improvement and assurance initiatives in the region and support through local churches endeavor to sustainability. The Program Coordinator will represent CBM in all aspects of the projects in coordination with partner local churches.

  • Location: Northeast India
  • Position Type: Full-time, Contract, 40 hours per week
  • Salary Band: Negotiable based on qualification and experience

Responsibilities

MINISTRY INITIATIVES

  • Ensure that all Projects are implemented efficiently, timely, and in line with the Project Agreements.
  • Formulate, implement, mobilize local churches, stakeholders in accomplishing the purpose of projects with an element of sustainability and share the same with the Team Leader.
  • Collect and review all Northeast (NE) India Partners monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and submit them to the Senior Program Coordinator in a timely manner.
  • Review and revise all ongoing and new Project Proposals and Budgets of NE Partners.
  • Gather, translate, and edit human-interest stories/impact stories submitted by NE Partners.
  • Directly interview leadership, staff, and stakeholders of the NE India Partners for overall impact of the projects, additional human interest stories/impact stories with short videos and photos, and any additional stories as and when required.
  • Take high-quality photos and videos of all ongoing project activities and beneficiaries according to CBM’s standards for publication.
  • Towards a sustainable approach, build networking and capacity building between all Partners in the NE.
  • Analyze project expenditures against the activity plan and budget and coordinate with relevant staff of the projects.
  • Seek support from functional experts from Government and private where required.
  • Assist Partners on new projects in the baseline survey and analysis; and writing of concept papers, proposals, and budgets.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with partners through personal visits, regular correspondence, reporting, and meetings.
  • Provide updates and critical analysis of field reports to the Team Leader.
  • Inform and provide suggestions to the identification and evaluation of emerging and key development needs, trends, and priorities in a particular region of NE to the Team Leader.
  • Conceptualize, research, and inform the Team Leader of potential new partners in NE India.
  • Participate in all CBM activities such as workshops, conference, seminars, church activities, and others as required by the Team Leader.
  • Provide literature searches, identification, and administration of resource persons/consultants, government schemes, and programs, in support of projects.

 MONITORING AND EVALUATION

  • Visit NE India Partners monthly or as per instructions of the Team Leader, to teach and oversee projects’ activities, books of accounts, and other relevant records of the projects.
  • Assess the impact and effectiveness of projects through regular field visits, overseeing projects’ activity plans and budgets correlation, consultations with Partners’ leadership and project staff, stakeholders, and building a sustainable approach.
  • Maintain field visits data, update and maintain project files and project participants’ contacts for monitoring and evaluation, and activities for internal reporting
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the logical framework, action plan, budget, and performance measurement framework.
  • Travel independently and/or as part of a team, to various locations throughout NE India and at least once in a month to a Partner and field to monitor and guide the partners in the project activities.

 PARTNER & TEAM RELATIONS

  • Work with Canadian and local partners to practically implement the components of the partnership agreements.
  • Share regular field operational duties and respond to ad hoc needs as requested by TL or Head Office.
  • Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality, and age sensitivity and adaptability.
  • Contribute to the spiritual growth and development of CBM.
  • Participate in regular CBM Asia Team meetings and with the Canada office, when needed.

 DONOR & CONSTITUENCY RELATIONS

  • Write a minimum of four ministry updates per year according to guidelines provided by CBM’s Content Design team.
  • Provide information – photos, stories, statistics – for CBM promotional and educational publications as requested by CBM Communications Department.
  • Give presentations on ministry to CBM constituents as requested.
  • Provide logistic support for SENT teams and CBM staff, donors, friends, etc., while they visit NE India.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Assist the Senior Program Coordinator and the Team Leader in preparing annual budgets for NE India ministry initiatives and personal ministry costs in consultation with Team Leader.
  • Track and reconcile all ministry-related expenses by completing and submitting a monthly expense report by the date specified by Administrative Services.
  • Maintain receipts and supporting documents.
  • Provide updated emergency information, bios, and vacation tracking to Team Leader as requested.
  • Participate occasionally in special assignments and projects as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
  • Minimum Regular Bachelor’s degree preferably with a Theological degree from a recognized affiliated body.
  • Completed minimum Diploma in Project Management covering the development sector, from a reputed institution under or recognized by the Government of India. MSW or similar degree holders could apply if specifically studied “Project Management” as a course.
  • Have a good understanding of all technical aspects of the project to coordinate effectively to meet project goals and objectives.
  • Have 2 years of experience in Project Management.

  • Evidence of spiritual maturity confirmed through personal integrity and lifestyle
  • Active member in a local church
  • Knowledge of FCRA rules and regulations.
  • Excellent command in English (written and oral). Knowledge of Hindi and NE languages will be an added advantage.
  • Experience to work with Office 365.
