Based in Mae Sai, Thailand the SENT Coordinator, Thailand contributes to CBM’s overall success in the areas of Integral Mission (IM) and Global Discipleship (GD) by facilitating venues for instruction and dialogue, and by organizing and facilitating SENT trips in Thailand to reinforce partnerships and local ministry strategies.

Responsibilities
SENT ADMINISTRATION
- Plan appropriate SENT visits to mission venues which contribute to Global Discipleship learning for the Canadian Baptist constituency while also meeting the needs of partners in Thailand
- Work with local church leaders and communities in SENT site planning and preparation
- Manage and report any health or safety hazards and considerations for potential project sites
- Source cost-effective accommodation, food & transportation
- Create a budget inclusive of all logistic components for each individual/group
- Book all logistics for individual and team volunteer trips
- Work with the Church Relations colleagues (SENT) to provide information necessary for timely (at least 6 months ahead of departure) and proper orientation prior to the volunteer(s) departure from Canada.
- Provide teams and individuals with in-country orientations upon arrival & debriefings prior to departure
- Accompany all teams to all venues during their SENT trip to ensure compliance with in-country requirements, safe project conditions and all logistics arrangements
- Act as language and cultural interpreter during the trip
- Prayerfully address difficult interpersonal situations which might arise within a group or colleagues
- Take appropriate action for any health or safety concerns which might arise
- Work with the Church Relations colleagues to complete any medical claim forms regarding reimbursement for any SENT participant medical treatment during project as necessary
- Assist in evaluating the impact of SENT teams on CBM’S partners and programs and provide recommendations for improvements
- Integrate IM modules into SENT program for Canadian participants
COMMUNICATION
- Provide written reporting & evaluation of all programs and visiting teams
- Discuss potential new SENT opportunities and requirements with the Global Discipleship Facilitator
- Gather information for stories and take photos of CBM activities
- Inform colleagues in the region about SENT participants, process, and progress
GENERAL ADMINISTRATION
- Work with CBM Church Relations staff and partners in developing annual program plan
- Track all SENT team expenses, record in financial report, and submit within 5 days of individual/team departure to the Global Discipleship Facilitator
- Maintain receipts and supporting documents for all expenses
- Submit monthly expense reports to the Global Discipleship Facilitator by the 5th of each month and copy the Asia Team Leader
- Submit a brief monthly report outlining activities, goals reached, expenses, and a work plan for the coming month to the Asia Team Leader
- Submit quarterly ministry reports and photos to the Global Discipleship Facilitator
- Participate occasionally in special assignments and projects
Skills/Knowledge Required:
- Accepts CBM’s Core Values, Beliefs, and practices (see www.cbmin.org)
- Willing to sign CBM’s Lifestyle Agreement and Child Protection Policy
- University level training in Community Development preferred
- University level training in Theology and Christian discipleship preferred
- Able to design, teach and evaluate formal courses and workshops
- Project or program management experience, particularly around Sustainable Community Development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English and Mandarin– both spoken and written
- Above average attention to detail
- Team oriented; both as a valuable team player and team leadership, ability to nurture team cohesiveness
- Highly effective Cultural Intelligence
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to problem solve and able to discern when to escalate concerns to colleagues or supervisor
- Able to travel away from home for up to two weeks at a time – several times a year. Work includes some evenings and weekends
- Valid Driver’s license
- Valid Passport
- First Aid Training an asset
