Mississauga, Ontario – Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM) announces the conclusion of service for Strategic Associates Dan and Melody Grove, effective immediately.

The Groves joined CBM in 1997 as co-appointments with Wycliffe Bible Translators, to serve in Cameroon. Dan and Melody worked with a team of missionaries and nationals to translate the New Testament and develop literacy programs in the Ndop Plain, Northwest Cameroon. They worked with Cameroonian colleagues and formed a cluster service team that now leads and manages the translation project. In December 2019, the team celebrated the dedication of the New Testament translation in Chrambo.

The Groves have returned to Canada and continue to serve in ministry with Wycliffe. CBM is thankful to Dan and Melody for their years of service and their perseverance in their translation and literacy training work, which is a tremendous accomplishment.

CBM Executive Director Terry Smith says, “I am deeply grateful to Dan and Melody for their unfaltering dedication to God’s mission and the translation of the Scriptures. Their service through Wycliffe and SIL has strengthened the partnership and participation of Canadian Baptist churches in global mission and it has been our joy at CBM to be associated with this ministry. While the work of Bible translation goes on in Cameroon with people the Groves have trained, we celebrate with them this new season of ministry and the opportunities which lie ahead.”
