Build the Church

Project Profile

Forum of Mission to Chinese in Germany (FMCD)

OVERVIEW

CBM works in partnership with a local organization called Forum of Mission to Chinese in Germany (FMCD), ministering to Chinese students in university towns to offer support and community to those studying abroad. Support this project with financial contributions and prayer.

The Situation

Germany is a popular academic destination for Chinese students because it offers free quality education. However, for those who find themselves alone and in a new country, there are challengesMany students experience discrimination, isolation, and loneliness. This unique circumstance also presents a significant opportunity to serve and minister to Chinese students, by providing a community of support, as well as a chance to make the gospel message accessible to share the hope and love of Christ. Many students encounter the gospel there for the first time, joining a church, getting involved in ministry groups, and even serving the church and community.

In the second year of the COVID-19 pandemic, meetings continue online, which makes getting to know new students and building relationships more challenging but still the fruit of God’s faithfulness is seen. A German reading group has also been an excellent opportunity to reach students.

“It’s very encouraging to see how the people in our church continue in their faithful relationship with the Lord. As far as it is possible, I meet people personally to build relationships and for discipling. This season is a good time for discipleship!
