In Bolivia, my country is doing its best to recover from the global pandemic.

While cases remain relatively low, the economic impact of COVID-19 is being felt by many. Economists indicate that at any time, the government may stop absorbing the rise in product prices and a drastic increase in costs is feared. This could be very dangerous, especially for the poorest families. Another area of concern is the lack of job opportunities in every sector. More and more companies are laying off employees because they can no longer cover the payroll.

The pandemic’s effects on education remain a challenge, as teachers are doing their best to help children ‘catch up’ after nearly two years of inconsistent learning. Many children are struggling and have learning difficulties because of the missed school. Emerging from the pandemic is an ongoing daily challenge, especially for those we serve on the margins.
