Sometimes, being in a spiritual season of exile – losing everything that’s familiar, losing control of our lives – gives us the impression that we’ve lost life’s meaning, that God has abandoned us. This, in turn develops apathy – hopelessness – which then makes us even more vulnerable to temptations that lead us away from God. Senior Associate for Theological Integration Jonathan Wilson teaches us how to live in exile wisely, with the reminder that even in unfamiliar, disorienting times and places, God is with us and teaching us.
