Devastating floods in India’s southern state of Kerala have claimed the lives of nearly 400 people – the worst to hit the area in a century. Dozens of people are missing and news agencies report that 1.2 million are sheltering in camps. Although CBM does not have projects in the area, we stand in prayer with our church partners in the surrounding states and all those affected. Please pray that emergency food and medical supplies would reach those in need. Pray also for the rescue workers, doctors and volunteers who are working around the clock to reach those affected. As the waters recede, a long and difficult clean-up process awaits. Please pray that communities, homes and lives would be restored and that the people would be comforted by God’s love throughout this process.
