September 21 is the United Nations’ (UN) International Day of Peace. This day is “devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples,” says information from the UN. This year’s theme, “The Right to Peace,” also celebrates the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We pray that peace would come to nations in conflict, alleviating the poverty and suffering that results from war. Pray for nations that are at risk of war, that discord would not take root and that peace would be established. Also, please remember to pray for the next generation of young people. May they know the joys of peace from an early age and value the ideals of peace and reconciliation.
