On August 14, 2021 a new earthquake (7.2 on the Richter scale) struck the southern peninsula of the country, near the city of Les Cayes.

CBM was part of a vast humanitarian response after the earthquake of 2010 along the same fault-line as this most recent one. At that time, we found it difficult to deliver effective, sustainable humanitarian aid to the people of Haiti.

Haitian partners were sadly ill-equipped to provide management and necessary monitoring of programs. Today, 11 years later, the situation, the situation is regrettably worse. Today, armed gangs control much of the island.

Working with our partners from the Baptist Forum for Aid and Development, we will once again provide assistance to the most severely impacted, as soon as we are able to ascertain the best way forward. Please join us at CBM in praying for Haiti and give whatever you are able to help bring healing to a very broken country.
