On February 1st 2021, the armed forces of Myanmar seized control of the country in a military coup. The weeks following have seen the country experience widespread protest and an increasingly harsh crackdown on dissent. Over 2200 people have been arrested by the ruling authority and over 200 have lost their lives in the violence. A contact in the region shares, “The people of Myanmar continue to live day by day in fear, not knowing what to expect nor see tomorrow. It is heartbreaking to see our youth struggling everyday to survive, protesting out in the scorching heat everyday for their future, while the whole world watches in horror”
