Improper management of garbage in San Marcos, Guatemala is currently a significant problem with several negative health and environmental impacts. Starting with local CIBG churches, this project aims to raise awareness of the current issue and provide training and equipment necessary for proper sorting and management. This project will expand to train and equip schools and other community institutions and also initiate the development of local committees that can both uphold the project goals and encourage implementation of similar initiatives elsewhere, after the completion of the project term.
