India – Empowering Youth Through Sports

Today there are many young talented youth who are not getting an opportunity to play sports. Therefore, making sports ministry with the approach of word and deed will help church to be socially relevant as sports ministry plays an important role in impacting the community and society. Sports can act as a bridge to connect with people to share the love of Christ with them. It can also transform individual life and community with the possibility of jobs as physical teachers in schools and colleges, government jobs, security agencies, playing for soccer clubs, district clubs, state clubs and national clubs, opening up their own sports business like gyms, training centers, etc. It can be a vehicle to share their faith in a new environment. The project will target the youth from rural-farmers community mostly uneducated, unemployed and school drops out. 40 youth will receive soccer training and participate in District level, state level and National level tournaments. Chuchuyimlang Baptist Church oversees this project directly by being involved in hiring coaches, selecting youth to participate, and offering social, emotional and spiritual support to all of the youth participants.
