Violence Against Women

November 25 is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. “Violence against women continues to be an obstacle to achieving equality, development, peace as well as to the fulfillment of women and girls’ human rights,” says information from the United Nations (UN). Statistics show that 1 in 3 women and girls experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime – most frequently by an intimate partner. The UN also notes that more than 70 per cent of all human trafficking victims worldwide are women and girls. Please pray for the well-being of women worldwide, especially those who are most vulnerable due to conflict and instability. We pray that communities and global leaders would implement programs and strategies to better protect women. May we strive to ensure that women and girls are loved, respected and cared for around the world.
