Serving in Germany
Xiaodan Gang serves with CBM in Germany as part of the Chinese Ministries Team. She joined the team in 2011, working in partnership with the local organization Forum for Mission to Chinese in Germany (FMCD). The CBM team in Germany works primarily among Chinese students, most of whom have never heard the gospel. The vast majority of the students will return to China after they graduate and enter into professions or work as civil servants.
Xiaodan was born in Liaoning, China and grew up in an atheist family. She first heard about and accepted Christ while she was studying in Switzerland. Xiaodan was baptized at the International Church of Basel in 2003. She later participated in the church’s city outreach and the seeds of mission were planted in her heart.
In 2005, Xiaodan answered the call to enter into full-time ministry. She obtained theological training at St. Chrischona Theological Seminary in Basel beginning in 2007. During her years of study, she also served in preaching, teaching Sunday School and leading youth fellowship at Basel Chinese Christian Church. Xiaodan also had the opportunity to serve as an intern at Hamburg Chinese Christian Church. While there, she obtained her first exposure to student ministry and developed an understanding of the tremendous need that existed among this group of people. Shortly after, she committed herself to ministering among Chinese students and returned to Germany to join the CBM team.
