In Latin America and the Caribbean, poverty and inequality remain key concerns as inflation rises.

The most vulnerable groups in the region are being hit hard by the increase in food and energy prices, while also struggling to recover from the economic impact of the pandemic. COVID-19 has left a legacy of death, unemployment, and increased learning poverty.

In Latin America, one in three children between the ages of four and five does not attend preschool. Only four out of five children stay enrolled between the ages of 13 and 17. More than half of children from low-income families in rural areas fail to complete nine years of basic education.

Our team continues to respond to the needs of the region through a number of programs: from educational care for children and youth, to economic stability initiatives to leadership training.
