WEEK OF APRIL 2nd

MENA Region
– Please pray for CBM’s partners in Lebanon, Egypt, and Sudan. Pray for the churches to continue proclaiming the gospel faithfully despite the difficult circumstances.

Chinese Ministry Team
– Pray for the health of our Field Staff and their families. There has been a bout of cold/flu making its rounds.
– Pray for the annual German-wide Chinese Christian Discipleship Camp (happened over Easter weekend).

Latin America and Caribbean
– CBM Staff: Kathryn Scott in the Dominican Republic, Tim & Kallie Hutton in Bolivia, Byron Velasquez and Bruno & Kathleen in Guatemala. Please pray for safety and wisdom as we accompany partners in their work with local churches and communities, and for each of our families – parents, children, and grandchildren.
– UBB, Our Bolivian Baptist partner, just elected a new board, including Pastor Alberto Coarite (former UBB President) as Executive Director. Please pray for his church in the La Paz area, which had been expecting him to stay on as their pastor. Also pray for his wife Sonia and daughter Ruth as they anticipate a move to Cochabamba, and for Pastor Alberto as he re-adjusts to this new role with its opportunities and challenges.

International Partners Team
– We’re thankful that Julia Wall-Bowering, Team Lead of International Programs, has returned from her maternity leave. Pray for a smooth transition back into the team.
– Pray for Kelly Paul, Senior Program Administrator, as she takes on the PSEA portfolio for the next 3 months.

 

WEEK OF APRIL 9th

MENA Region
– Please pray for peace in the region. With the war in Israel/Palestine/Lebanon and in Sudan, there is increased suffering, death, destruction, displacement, and hunger.
– Please pray that international efforts will favor the safety, security, and well-being of people over love of power and special interests.

Asia
– Please pray for wisdom and safety for our project partners in Myanmar, may they overcome obstacles amidst unrest to witness God’s love and protection in their ministries. Pray that the conflict and military conscription would end soon.
– Pray for the general elections in India from April to June, that God would guide the voters to make informed decisions and choose leaders who will work for the betterment of the country. May there be peace and unity among all citizens during this crucial time.
– Please pray for our project partners in Thailand, that they may serve God and their communities with faith and joy.
– Thailand grapples with air pollution, posing health challenges. Please pray for the authorities to have the awareness and wisdom to address this issue effectively.

 

WEEK OF APRIL 16th

Asia
– We are walking alongside our partner, Asia Pacific Baptist Aid (APBAid), to bring awareness and assistance for the disabled in Sri Lankan churches. Pray for the volunteers working with churches to improve conditions for those living with a disability so they can attend worship services and participate in ministry activities.

Chinese Ministry Team
– Pray for the outreach program among the Chinese students in Marburg and Kassel, Germany.

Latin America and Caribbean
– Please pray for SENT trips, that the experiences would be life changing for the students from Crandall University as they participate in programming in Guatemala and the Dominican Republic, and that they be an encouragement for our partner churches in these respective countries.
– Please pray for the Latin America Leadership Exchange, particularly as they plan for a gathering of partner leaders from El Salvador, Guatemala, and a first invitation for participants from our partners in Bolivia, Dominican Republic, and Cuba.

Africa
– Please pray for our partners in North Kivu. There is tension/instability in the region with the incursion of the M23 rebels in some areas close to Goma causing internal displacement. A town called Sake, some 27km from Goma, is empty as residents have fled to Goma.

 

WEEK OF APRIL 23rd

Asia
– Continue to pray for our new partner, Miqlat and Samaritan Home, who are working with victims and those at risk of human trafficking in Dimapur, India. Please pray that these individuals will find meaning as they work towards their recovery and healing, and as they seek a sustainable alternate livelihood.
– Pray for the poultry and coffee plantation projects at Clark Theological College to run well so that every year they can provide scholarships to students in need.

MENA Region
– Please pray for the MENA team as they travel and serve in the region.

Chinese Ministry Team
– Pray for Xiaodan Frolich’s recovery from her dental procedure.
– Please pray for the teacher’s training for children’s ministries in East Asia.
– Please pray for the planning of the Joint (Goettingen, Kassel, Marburg) Living Camp (June 7-9).

Africa
– Pray for peace in Eastern DR Congo.
