Dear friends,

Season’s greetings. We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!

As the pandemic eases and traveling opens up around the world, we’ve had the opportunity to travel to the field. We are very happy to be able to visit our staff, partners and churches again. It has been almost two years since we came back to Toronto.

August – September

During the months of August and September, we made a trip almost around the world to Germany, Taiwan, Vancouver and Calgary. It was a busy and fruitful trip. It was more effective to meet in person than meeting over Zoom.

Germany

We consolidated the original four ministry cities to three (Gottingen, Kassel and Marburg). The three cities are closer to each other. We believe this is a good move so that our staff can better share resources and help each other in a more effective way.

Taiwan

Other than visiting our partners Operation Dawn, Baptist Seminary, and churches, we also visited two young couples who have just started their seminary studies. They are planning to become missionaries when they finish their training in three years. We are very grateful to have metthem when they came to Northern Thailand during a short-term mission trip. With the trust and request from their pastors, we’ve had the opportunity to give them some direction and guidance. We hope to walk alongside them in the years to come.

Vancouver and Calgary

We shared with over ten churches in Vancouver, Vancouver Island, and Calgary. It was very well received, and we were able to share the mission work of the Chinese Ministries Team. We pray that these visits will stir up a passion for mission. May God continue to call upon His workers to join the mission work, because the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.

Mid-November – Now

Our second trip was to Northern Thailand. By the time you receive this ministry update, we should be back in Toronto. Praise the Lord, we were able to bring the very first SENT (Short Term Mission) team to Northern Thailand since the pandemic began in 2020. The team had seven members from two different Toronto churches. Our prayers for the team were to let them see what God wanted them to see and hear what God wanted them to hear. The two-week schedule was very packed, but we are sure it really opened up the eyes and hearts of the team.

We continued our visits in Northern Thailand after the SENT team left. We are glad we got to catch up with co-workers, alumni, and students during these visits. Unfortunately, we were not able to visit Myanmar this time because the political situation is still very unstable.

November is the month of Thanksgiving for churches in Northern Thailand. We were very honored to attend many Thanksgiving services, church building dedications, baptisms and even a ground digging ceremony during these visits.

We have also attached a link to a short Christmas Video we made this year. Thank you once again for your support throughout 2022.

Prayer Requests

  1. Please continue to pray for our Chinese Ministry Team, there are a lot of plans in 2023. May God grant us the wisdom to complete the task according to His will.
  2. Please continue to pray for Myanmar as life is still very difficult. May God’s peace be upon this country.
  3. Please pray for our family, our granddaughters, Chloe is 18 months and Sullivan is 10 months old already. May God continue to grant us good health both physically and spiritually.
  4. We are now planning our trips for next year. We hope to visit Myanmar in the month of May. Please pray that God will open the door for us.

In Christ,

Conrad and Fiona Kwok
