Dear Mission Partners:

Greetings from Thailand! I trust you are having a great beginning to 2024. The first season of the year signifies the conclusion of the academic year for schools and institutes in Thailand, marking the transition from winter to the warmth of summer. With nature’s renewal, the Lord has bestowed upon us fresh strength and grace for each new day, even amidst our busy routines.

My family has resumed our busy schedule following our Christmas break. Joseph and I visited our local partners to wrap up last year’s projects and usher in a new chapter for this year’s plans, which include some new projects. We are enthusiastic about the promising beginning of our 2024 ministries in Thailand and Myanmar. Meanwhile, my daughter Sophia is gearing up for her final exams and looking forward to the upcoming summer holidays. Unfortunately, there is a prevalent flu outbreak in our area, and my daughter has been affected, she’s currently recovering.

While concluding the last quarterly reports of 2023, we reflected on our blessings and the remarkable work of God. We are grateful for the Nursing Aide Training in Myanmar, which has proven fruitful despite some challenges. The initiative aims to equip young individuals in Yangon with employable skills for improved income, and so far, 17 youths are being trained, which will conclude in March. Through the testimonials of the trainees, it becomes evident that the program not only imparts knowledge and skills but also serves as a life-changing opportunity. Young people discover their purpose and envision a brighter future. Given the demand for nursing aides in the area, some participants are already anticipating employment opportunities in the near future. This project brings blessings not only to the young individuals but also to their community, infusing joy into their lives.

The sewing project has achieved success, with an additional 12 women completing their training and 14 new trainees joining the latest session. Those who have successfully finished the training are now capable of working at the local cloth factory or establishing their own sewing businesses. One trainee had to flee from a conflict zone with her family. She felt despair and saw no hope for the future. Upon learning about the training opportunity, she seized the chance to acquire sewing skills. Diligently learning the skill, she has emerged as one of the best trainees. She experienced a profound sense of joy and gratitude. This project has become a source of hope for her during what has otherwise been the darkest period of her life.

In the current year, we have established a new mission partnership with Ban Lao Liu Church in Northern Thailand. Together, we are undertaking a cattle farm project designed to support the church’s ministries. The church is engaged in various ministries, not only within its own village but also reaching out to nearby communities. Additionally, we collaborate with the church to assist underprivileged children at the Lord’s Love Centre. Many of these children come from conflict zones in Myanmar. The centre offers a secure environment for residents as well as educational opportunities with the aim of safeguarding and empowering this vulnerable group within the community.

We need your prayers to sustain us with the strength to continue our service in the local community. As God’s servants, we are committed to being sent wherever His love and salvation are needed. Your unwavering prayers and support are a source of great encouragement.

Prayer requests

  • Please pray for the country of Myanmar, as the situation of unrest persists. May God protect the vulnerable amidst the dangers.
  • Please lift up prayers for our project partners in Thailand and Myanmar. With six projects underway this year, please pray that we can collaborate with our partners effectively to serve the local communities.
  • Please pray for our new mission.
