Being Accountable

Faithful
stewardship of every gift

Our commitment is to be faithful to your generosity by directing as much as possible to the people and places God has given you a heart for.

Our careful stewardship of every donation and every dollar entrusted to us extends to the practicalities of our work. That means how we take care of the building we work in, to the ways we keep overhead low and the program support we send to the field.

It is in our DNA to be both frugal and fruitful. Every donation to CBM is squeezed tightly to ensure the maximum amount possible is getting to those in need.

> 80%

The majority of our budget is raised from individuals and churches, along with foundations and corporations.

< 10%

Four Canadian Baptist denominations and three Women’s Groups provide the next largest portion.

< 10%

Each year we receive some funds through our investments as well as estate gifts.

Governance

CBM is governed by a Board of Directors who represent over 900 Canadian Baptist congregations. These churches are organized through the four Canadian Baptist regional denominations.

Each denomination elects three members to the CBM Board of Directors. In addition, there is Board representation from the Canadian Baptist Women’s groups.  The Board Executive is composed of the President, Treasurer and a Vice-President from each denomination and Canadian Baptist Women. The Executive acts as the board management committee with additional responsibilities for human resources.
