Hi everyone, I’m Kathryn Scott. Greetings from Guatemala. My first two months on the field have been filled with a lot of transition and learning. I have been focusing on learning Spanish and this has been an exciting and humbling endeavour. Please continue to pray for my language abilities as this is an integral part of my ministry in Central America. Please continue to pray for me as I learn and adapt to this new role and a new culture.

I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to visit Bolivia recently, which allowed me to meet my fellow colleagues and learn more about our partnerships there. Pray for our Latin American partners as they seek to work with their communities in their unique and difficult circumstances. God continues to work in each of these countries and it is a privilege to walk alongside our partners as God uses them to bring hope and life to their communities.

As I look to the new year, I am excited that there are a number of SENT teams coming to Central America. A huge part of my journey in becoming a global field staff and also in my walk with Christ was due to being able to be a part of SENT experiences. Pray for those who are coming in 2023. Pray that they would be open and willing to see how God is at work and how he might be challenging them to join in His mission. Pray also for the partners and the communities that they will interact with. Pray that this would be an encouraging time of coming together as the body of Christ.

I am often reminded of Romans 12:12 which says “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer.” I want to thank you for your faithful prayers and support. I hope that you are encouraged that God is still at work, in your life, in your community, and in the world.

Please pray:

• For our newest Global Field Staff, Kathryn Scott, as she learns Spanish, meets and learns about our partners in Central America, and adapts to a new role and to a new culture.
• For our partners in Latin America as they seek to be a light to their communities. Pray that they would feel encouraged and supported. Pray for the different challenges that they are facing as they seek to serve. Pray for the field staff serving in these areas as they walk with our partners.
• Pray for our SENT teams coming in 2023. Pray for those who will be taking part in these experiences and that as they come, they are open and willing to listen and learn. Pray for the different partners and communities that will be receiving these teams. Pray that this would be an encouraging time of sharing together. Pray also for the CBM staff who are responsible for the preparations for these SENT experiences.
