The sun is strong on our backs as our footsteps crunch through leaves, sticks, and other plant life in the field. Birds are chirping and singing in the trees around us. We pause for a minute, silently, listening to the environment around us. What a beautiful way to start a Sunday morning, on IBAREDO’s (Iglesias Bautista de la República Dominicana) farm, together with around 20 youth.
It has been an eye-opening and life-changing experience for me to serve with CBM this first year. I’m grateful for the way this experience has shaped me both personally and professionally, from adjusting to new situations and cultural differences to taking on challenging tasks and helping to improve the lives of others.
