WEEK OF MAY 6TH

Africa

• Praise Item – André Sibomana’s safe return from his visit to Canada. On his way back to Africa, he was able to stop briefly in France to visit his cousins whom he has not seen for the last 30 Years.
• Praise Item – Gato Munyamasoko returned from field trips in Uganda and South Sudan.

Chinese Ministries

• Pray for the Joint (Marburg, Kassel, Goettingen) Living Camp which takes place in June. Pray for Lewis Lam, Strategic Associate, as he leads the planning and preparation for the camp.

Latin America and Caribbean (LAC)

• Pray for our partners as they navigate regular changes in leadership to have wisdom and humility before the Lord. Please pray for Jeimmy, the daughter of Dr. Hugo, president of the Association of Baptist Churches in El Salvador (ABES). She is a medical student studying in the US and suffered a brain aneurism on April 22. Pray for healing after surgery, a full recovery, and for her parents as they support her.

MENA Region

• Please pray for the ministry in Türkiye. Pray that the Lord would lead more people to find the chat line. Please also pray that an excellent video on creation versus evolution, with Turkish subtitles, would soon be made ready and available. The Turkish church has few resources on this topic.

International Partnerships Department

• As we continue this 2nd quarter, let us pray for the partners so that they have the grace to continue coordinating with government and social institutions on some of the project activities.

 

WEEK OF MAY 13TH

Africa

• Pray for provision for our partners across the continent, that God will give them wisdom as they make important decisions to support those in need.
• Pray for cohesion and effectiveness for the Team as we serve the partners.

Chinese Ministries

• Pray for the outdoor outreach program in Marburg on May 25th and 31st. Felain Lam, our Strategic Associate, asks for prayer for wisdom to lead 2 workshops, a Bible study and team building programs.

Latin America and Caribbean (LAC)

• We are thankful for young people open to serving and learning in another culture through SENT (including 4 teams of gap year and university age students). Pray for staff as they lead and care for them during important years in their growth as followers of Christ.
• Pray for our LAC team as we work on communication and collaboration across culture and distance.

MENA Region

• Please pray for peace and protection for refugee families who participate in CBM-supported education programs. We are hearing reports of children that are missing school due to fear of being harassed or attacked. Recently there has been a spike in targeted attacks of homes, cars, and businesses by Lebanese who believe refugees are a cause of the ongoing economic crisis and increased crime.

International Partnerships Department

• Pray for our partners in Asia (especially India and the Philippines) experiencing heatwaves which are causing health issues and water shortages.

 

WEEK OF MAY 20TH

Africa

• Pray for safety in places where there is ongoing conflict such as the Sudan and eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

Chinese Ministries

• Praise the Lord for the German-wide Chinese Christian Discipleship Camp which took place over the Easter weekend. Many members from our churches (Marburg, Kassel, Goettingen) joined and were nourished by God’s Word.

Latin America and Caribbean (LAC)

• We thank God for our partners who are preparing to travel to El Salvador June 4-5 for our first Latin America & Caribbean Leadership Exchange. Pray that participants from our partner countries will have seamless travel (some visas required) and that this time will be a blessing in the lives of the leaders and the communities and churches where they serve.

MENA Region

• Please pray for our partners in Sudan to be strengthened, as they continue to serve their communities despite the challenges caused by war and displacement.

International Partnerships Department

• Please pray for our partner in South Sudan, FEBAC. We will be starting a new food security project together. Please pray that it will have a lasting, positive impact on the community.

 

WEEK OF MAY 27TH

Africa

• Pray for safety in regions where the rains have been over abundant, causing floods.

Chinese Ministries

• Please continue to pray for peace in Ukraine. All of Europe is living in fear of a possible expansion of war – previous experiences with WWI and WWII are fueling the fear. A number of countries, including Germany, has increased spending on their military.

MENA Region

• Please pray for peace in Sudan, Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria. Pray that the wars would not escalate to become regional.

International Partnerships Department

• Please pray for CBM program officers and field staff as they travel to connect with partners and monitor all the field projects.
