Mississauga, Ontario – Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Louise Knowles, to the newly created position of Coordinator, Youth Engagement & SENT Programs, effective March 11, 2019. Louise will be based in Halifax working with CBM’s Church Engagement Team. This new appointment affirms CBM’s ongoing commitment to engage the next generation in global mission.

For the past five years, Louise has served in a part-time capacity at CBM as the Youth and Young Adult Coordinator, actively serving with the Canadian Baptist Youth and Family team. She will continue to expand CBM’s connection to youth pastors and leaders across Canada.

The SENT Program offers discipleship opportunities to serve and learn in a variety of contexts and locations around the world. Having participated in several overseas trips, Louise brings first-hand experience along with a pastor’s heart to this new role. She will develop additional resources to deepen the global discipleship experience of individuals and teams.

This expanded role within our team will allow her gifts of wisdom and leadership to be of greater service to churches. I am certain that many people will benefit from her experience as they seek to grow in faith through serving with our partners globally.”

Louise brings to this role a passion for social justice and a desire to engage youth in faith that makes a difference. For the past five years, Louise has served as Associate Pastor at Timberlea Baptist Church in Halifax. Born and raised in Nova Scotia, she received her MDiv from Acadia Divinity College. During her studies she was the recipient of the Theophilus Richard Brehaut Prize for outstanding ability in pastoral ministry and excellence in biblical studies.

Louise lives in Halifax with her two daughters.
