June 2025 – Executive Director Jennifer Lau gives an update on the latest news from CBM.

Hello Friends,

As the changing seasons remind us of the new life we experience in Christ, we are grateful that we get to share in abundant life with people all over world. Thank you for being an important part of this global community of faith and witness.

We’ve been busy this spring with many celebrations and preparation,

  • First, we celebrated International Women’s Day in March with life-giving conversations with Baptist women in Canada and across the world, exploring how we can continue to celebrate and advocate for girls and women in the workplaces, churches, schools, and at home.
  • We also invited CBM relief and development specialist Polisi Kivava to share with us how CBM’s food programming works, aiding people whose lives have been disrupted by conflict and disaster. One of our key priorities is helping to build sustainable livelihoods for those struggling with poverty, as environmental changes presents new challenges to farmers. You can find both these episodes of CBM Calling on our website CBMIN.ORG
  • Speaking of food, are you getting ready for Active in Mission? This fun initiative supports food programs in our own neighbourhoods and around the world. You can walk, run, bike, swim or whatever you choose to help support hungry people.  You can register now at active in mission.ca
  • We celebrated Solidarity Sunday on May 25. If you missed it, don’t worry. You can hold Solidarity Sunday at your church on any week of the year. Visit our website cbmin.org to download all the resources, including a video sermon, Regional Team Leader updates, children’s lessons and more. Thank you for showing your solidarity with the people we serve together.
  • And thank you for being a part of all the life-giving ministries here at Canadian Baptist Ministries. We truly couldn’t do what we do without your prayers and partnership, as together we embrace a broken world through word and deed.
