CBM Appoints Chris Johnston as Regional Representative, Atlantic Region

Mississauga, Ontario – Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Chris Johnston as Regional Representative, Atlantic Canada, effective June 17, 2024.

Chris’s role is to invite the church in Atlantic Canada to join God in mission through CBM. His ministry will include strengthening existing relationships, creating new connections, and resourcing churches to engage with Integral Mission.

Chris says, “I am excited to meet with churches and individuals across Atlantic Canada to help them dream about how their partnership can have transformative gospel-impact in communities all over the globe.”

Chris will be a resource for churches as they respond to God’s call for global mission. He understands the importance of the local church and the significant role it plays in serving communities, having served in pastoral and camp ministry roles. In addition to these roles, Chris has experience in theological education as an adjunct lecturer with Acadia Divinity College and communications with the MacRae Centre and NAIITS. He has a Bachelor of Management from Dalhousie University and completed a Master of Divinity at Acadia Divinity College. Prior to joining CBM, Chris served as the senior pastor at Billtown Baptist Church in Billtown, NS.

Adrian Gardner, Director of Canadian Partnerships, says, “We are excited to welcome Chris to this key role with CBM in Atlantic Canada. His experience and enthusiasm will be assets as he shares how God is at work through our global ministry and invites churches and individuals into meaningful partnership.”

Chris lives in the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia with his wife, Erin, and their daughter, Charlotte.
