CBM Appoints Imkummeren Jamir as Field Staff in India

Mississauga, Ontario – Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Imkummeren Jamir as Program Coordinator in India, effective May 1, 2023. 

As Program Coordinator, Imkummeren will provide project management support for the North East India states, working with local churches in the area towards sustainability. He will report to the Asia Team Leader, Suraj Komaravalli, with reviews and revisions to project proposals, budgets, and regular updates. Networking, capacity building, and communicating with local church partners are also key responsibilities for him while identifying and evaluating development needs. 

Imkummeren has extensive experience working with various projects that encompass social ministry, sustainability projects, and farm/processing/marketing food-related programs. Also, he is knowledgeable with data and consulting, and has held positions as Youth Director and Youth Promoter at different churches.  

Suraj Komaravalli, Asia Team Leader, shares, “Imkummeren Jamir (Meren) comes with rich pastoral experience and a heart for the underprivileged. His advocacy for Creation Care with special emphasis on eco-psychology, eco-therapy, and experimental music therapy are some of his great attributes.”   

Imkummeren has a Master of Theology, a Bachelor of Divinity, as well as a Bachelor of Arts. He also has a certificate in church music and held various roles, including teaching, songwriting, composing and producing music, particularly helping those who are underprivileged in the music industry.
