Pray with John Chan

Dear Partners in Mission, I’m John Chan, Director of International Partnerships for CBM. As the world is slowly but surely putting the COVID-19 pandemic in our rear-view mirror, travel and in-person meetings are once again possible. May was an important month for gatherings at the CBM Office. First, we held our first in-person Field Team Leader’s retreat since 2019. Team Leaders met in person for the first time in four years and had a wonderful time together with the Canada-based Team Leads and Directors. The Team Leader’s retreat allows the Field-based Team Leaders and the Canada-based Team Leads to get to know each other, as well as brainstorm together about important strategic and operational themes. We came out of the retreat rejuvenated and ready to work together as a team contributing to the mission that God has given CBM. Then, a team of five representatives from our global partners, one each from Africa, Europe, Asia, Middle-East, and Latin America, came to do a complete Partner Assessment of CBM. This is the first time that we’re able to invite partner leaders to assess CBM as an organization since 2011. It is a wonderful opportunity to see our organization from the perspective of this diverse team of global Christian leaders.

Prayer Points:

Please pray:

  • Pray for CBM’s Field Team Leaders and Canada-based Team Leads as they now endeavor to take the ideas coming out of the retreat and put them into action in their respective fields and departments.
  • Pray also for CBM as an organization, that we will dig deep into the report and recommendations from our partner assessment team to see how we may grow and improve to become a more effective organization in ministering to this broken world in Word and Deed.
