Pray with Randy Stanton

Hi everyone, my name is Randy Stanton, and I am the Regional Representative for CBM here in Atlantic Canada. As part of the Canadian Church Engagement team, I help people and churches engage in Christian missions.

Thank you all for entering into a partnership with CBM as we serve the world through Word and Deed. This opportunity to walk as sojourners in Christ globally is life-changing. We have all received blessings by opening our hearts to Christian brothers and sisters worldwide. Thank you for walking with us.

During the long months of a pandemic winter here in Canada, we may find that local disruption and lack of social and sometimes spiritual closeness leave us immobile, but we have been active! One highlight of the past few years is the resilience of the local church that has remained focused on what God has called us: “To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8). This is indeed a praise item as churches have walked with us in helping continue the work. Most programs and ministries of CBM have carried on, but with the added complications of Covid. Many people, villages and churches have benefited as we were able to keep completing the mission projects in which we engage. Everything from educating women, pastors and children to planting crops, providing food and shelter to refugees and much work in Covid relief. Praise God that we have supported our mission partners together.

I am overwhelmed by the generosity and thoughtfulness of our people during what, to us, is a very challenging time.

Thank you for being a partner with CBM, and we appreciate your faithful prayers!

Below, you will find a list of ideas and options that you can use as a guide in this week’s prayers.

Prayer Points:

  • Pray for church people in a country you know. Ponder what it is like to attend church in COVID-19 conditions and the many pressing needs of the church. Remember the pastor, the Sunday School teacher, the Elder and the many new to Christianity as you pray. Pray that the local church will thrive during the pandemic.
  • Pray for the leadership of our Canadian churches. Pray for our denominational leaders trying to give direction and hope in the middle of a changing society and pandemic.
  • Ponder the prayer needs of our Canadian Baptist churches as they interact with mission needs at home and globally. Praise God for gracious responses and opportunities to reach out locally and internationally.
  • Praise God for the faithfulness of donors, churches, and prayer partners who invest in mission and can make a significant difference in people’s lives. Your support is feeding the hungry in Lebanon, supporting women’s education in Rwanda, defeating Chagas in Bolivia and making a safer place for children to live and learn about Christ.
