This project focuses on prevention, rehabilitation and restoration of girls/women who are at risk, or victims of, sexual exploitation and trafficking. It focuses on the spiritual, physical, social, mental, and economic wellbeing of the women. After undergoing a rehabilitation process, the women are reintegrated with families, churches and communities which enables them to meaningfully contribute to society. The partner promotes economic rehabilitation and creates alternative livelihood opportunities for the women, securing their freedom from the vulnerable and exploitative situations. Women will receive job skills training in the areas of barista training, tailoring and handicrafts (tea coasters, interior decorations and cards). Women and community members will also receive training on advocacy including legal rights and awareness and mental health. The need for this type of work was identified by a conference of women from the local area churches. The local churches continue to be involved by offering their support for this project and supporting the businesses where the women work during and after their training.
