March 2026
Greetings,
During the season of Lent, we are invited into a time of prayerful reflection, repentance, and renewed attentiveness to the life and ministry of Jesus. While Lent is not an official part of Baptist tradition, many within the CBM community value this season as an opportunity to slow our pace, examine our hearts, and prepare ourselves for the hope of Easter.
We do so in a time when the weight of the world can feel especially heavy. Daily headlines remind us of conflict, displacement, injustice, and deep human need across many regions of the world. In seasons like this, Lent calls us to look honestly at the suffering around us while remembering that Jesus himself stepped fully into the pain and brokenness of our world.
As we walk with Christ on his journey toward Jerusalem, we are reminded that God’s response to a wounded world was not distance, but presence. Through Jesus, we see a love that enters suffering, bears it, and ultimately overcomes it.
As you journey through Lent, may this season create space for honest reflection, quiet prayer, and renewed hope. May you be strengthened as you seek to follow Christ faithfully, holding both the sorrow of the world and the promise of resurrection before you.
With gratitude and prayer,
CBM’s Communications Team
